Bruno Acosta’s journey into tech can be summed up in one powerful idea: preparation meets opportunity.
Originally from Peru, Bruno began his academic path as a Biomedical Engineering student, spending two years studying in his home country. While he valued the technical rigor of the field, he realized he wanted broader opportunities, both in terms of career outlook and the impact he could make across multiple industries. That realization sparked his decision to pivot into tech.

Driven by a passion for problem-solving beyond the medical space, Bruno enrolled in the Miami Tech Works EPIC Challenge and fully embraced the experience. Along the way, he discovered that technical skills weren’t the only key to success. One of the most impactful lessons he learned was the value of building genuine relationships connections that often lead to mentorship, collaboration, and career opportunities

Bruno quickly put his learning into practice through hands-on experience. He interned at DataRemote Inc., where he worked on stability and IoT engineering projects. Completing his first assigned project there marked a turning point, it was the moment he truly felt his hard work paying off. He later continued gaining real-world experience as an intern at Canela Media Inc., where he now serves as an AI Data Engineer Intern, collaborating closely with Strategy and Operations teams and engaging with adjacent departments.

Beyond his internships, Bruno is also working on personal projects in the real estate and insurance industries, aligning with his interests in entrepreneurship and long-term investment. These projects allow him to explore how data and AI can drive smarter business decisions across sectors.

Like many professionals transitioning into tech, Bruno faced challenges along the way. One of his biggest was public speaking. Rather than avoiding it, he tackled it head-on, intentionally putting himself in uncomfortable situations, taking responsibility for mistakes, and learning through exposure.

When asked what advice he would give to others considering a similar path, Bruno keeps it simple:
“Consistency matters more than intensity.”

Looking ahead, Bruno’s goal is to continue building experience as an AI Data Engineer, deepening his technical expertise while contributing to meaningful, real-world solutions.

His story is a testament to resilience, adaptability, and the power of preparation, proof that with the right mindset, opportunity has a way of showing up.
